THE EXHIBITION: As part of an ongoing commitment to promote the visual arts, Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery (EWCG) invites all local and national professional artists to submit entries that examine their cultural relationships with Fairy Tales, Fables and Myths. Everyone loves a story. Many of these stories are handed down from generation to generation and evolve from their original interpretations. Some Fairy tales are defined as stories that range from those originating in old folklore to more modern stories that can be defined as literary fairy tales, fables or myths. While a myth is a category of a story that is considered true, a fable is a category that is considered false or fictional. Fables are stories of animals, things, or natural forces that are given human characteristics that usually give a moral lesson. Like myths, fables can be found in most cultures around the world. What is your creative interpretation of the theme?
