THE EXHIBITION: As part of an ongoing commitment to promote the visual arts, and to fulfill our mission to enhance the quality of life for our community, Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery (EWCG) is happy to invite you to submit entries for its second annual ART & SOCIAL JUSTICE national juried exhibition. We are living in a tumultuous time; the pandemic has illuminated many of the inequities in our country. How do we move towards equity? Why do we seem to be moving away from fairness? Make an impact with your visually representation of feelings and thoughts on social injustice today. Art gives us an opportunity to look at the world from a different perspective. We hope that the exhibition will continue the discussion of our path to social justice.

The seven- week gallery exhibition will have two parts: The physical gallery exhibition and then an on-line exhibition. All selected artwork will exhibit on-line. The exhibition juror will select the works to be exhibited in the gallery.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists. All work must be original and not previously exhibited at Ellington-White Contemporary.

SPECIFICATIONS: Artists may submit a maximum of three original works of art. Size of work may not be smaller than 12” x 12” or larger than 48” x 60” including frame. All works must be properly framed, wired and ready to hang. No saw tooth hangers. All works must be sturdy enough to withstand handling and exhibition works requiring extraordinary installation will be declined.

AWARDS:  Cash Awards, People's Choice Award and Honorable Mentions

SALES: 30% commission on all sales. All work will be available for purchase.

JURORS:  Rose-Ann San Martino, a professional artist, has worked with EWCDC since its relocation to Fayetteville, North Carolina in 2008. She is currently a board member and grant writer for Ellington-White. San Martino studied drawing and painting at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. She has exhibited work locally both in group and one-person exhibitions. Her work is in private collections throughout the United States.
