THE EXHIBITION: This regional competition entitled Art Gumbo, featuring contemporary artworks that combine a spicy blend of styles and media as interpreted by the artists; works that are expressive and alive with creative investigations that require contemplative self-study by the viewer. Art Gumbo will examine the multiple relationships and influences that these works create as art
The four-week gallery exhibition will have two parts, a physical gallery exhibition and an on-line exhibition. All selected artists will exhibit on-line. The exhibition jurors will select the works to be exhibited in the gallery. Such an exhibition demonstrates the continued significance of contemporary art through both conventional and innovative methods and materials.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to both student and professional artists. All work must be original and completed within the last three years and not previously exhibited in Cumberland County.
SPECIFICATIONS: Artists may submit a maximum of two original works of art that have been completed within the last three years and have not been exhibited before in Cumberland County. Size of work may not be smaller than 12” x 12” or larger than 36” x 48” including frame. All works must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang. No saw tooth hangers. All works must be sturdy enough to withstand handling and exhibition works requiring extraordinary installation will be declined.
SALES: 30% commission on all sales. All work must be available for purchase.

ENTRY FEE: Each artist may submit up to two pieces for a non-refundable fee of $20.
AGREEMENT: Submission of an entry to The Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery constitutes an agreement on the part of the entrant to all the conditions set forth in this prospectus. Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery reserves the right to reproduce accepted entries for publicity and promotional purposes. Accepted work that differs from the digital juried image may be excluded from the exhibition.
ACCEPTED WORKS: Accepted works must arrive ready to install by September 11, 2021. Work received outside of this timeframe may not be exhibited. The Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery reserves the right to exclude any work that is not professionally presented. All works must remain on display for the entire exhibition.
All ART MUST BE HAND DELIVERED TO: T he Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery, 113 Gillespie Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301 between Monday September 6 – Saturday September 11th, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm., At the end of the exhibition, entries may be picked up Wednesday, October 20 – Saturday October 23, 2021 during normal business hours 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Accepted work left for 30 days after the designated return dates will be disposed of at the discretion of the gallery.
