THE EXHIBITION: What is it? The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County is seeking original artwork from artists working with repurposed materials and found objects. Entries must incorporate 70% of repurposed, recyclable, or reused materials resulting in 2 or 3 Dimensional works of art.

Promotion: The “Transformation” exhibition will be promoted in North Carolina and surrounding states through press releases. Print ads will publish to a 10-county region and Fort Bragg through The Fayetteville Observer’s Weekender and SundayLife publications, as well as in Up & Coming Weekly. Digital/online promotions include the Arts Council’s “Artist Opportunities” website and e-blast. Announcements will also be made on multiple regional radio stations.
 

ELIGIBILITY:  NOW, Open to artists living in the United States.

SPECIFICATIONS: Artists may submit a maximum of two original works of art that have been completed within the last two years and have not been exhibited before in Cumberland County.  Size and scale of works will be of great consideration to the jurors. 2D and 3D work may not be smaller than 5” x 5”  x 5" or larger than 72” x 84” including frame or pedestal.  All 2D works must be properly framed, wired and ready to hang. No uni-frames or saw tooth hangers. All 3D works must be sturdy enough to withstand handling and any works requiring extraordinary installation will be declined. 

AWARDS: A total of $1,000 will be awarded. First Place: $500
 
SALES: Sales are encouraged. The Arts Council will retain a 30% commission on all works sold. If your work is not for sale, an insurance value MUST be placed on the entry form.
 

IMAGE SUBMISSION: will be accepted beginning October 16, 2015 via CaFE (Call for Entry) at http://www.callforentry.org/.   All entries must be uploaded using this online system.  Please do not upload digital images that contain borders or text info that is not part of the original work.
 
Applications must be received by Midnight, October 07, 2015
 

ENTRY FEE: Each artist may submit two images for a non-refundable fee of $20 for nonmembers and $15 for AC members.  The entry fee does not cover shipping expenses. Entries must be original in concept, composition and execution. Artwork created under the supervision of an instructor is NOT eligible.  Artwork must not be copied in part or wholly from any published or copyrighted work.


ACCEPTED WORKS:  Accepted works must arrive ready to install between October 16 - 17, 2015.  Work received outside of this timeframe may not be exhibited.  EWCG reserves the right to exclude any work that is not professionally presented.  All works must remain on display for the entire run of the exhibition. All information given on the original entry as to title, size and price will be accepted as final.  No changes may be made once accepted into the show.

SHIPPING: To the Arts Council Fayetteville/Cumberland County, 301 Hay St., Fayetteville, NC 28301. All shipped works should be packed in reusable containers.  DO NOT use Styrofoam peanuts when packing artwork.  Artwork should be shipped prepaid via UPS, USPS, DHL or Fed Ex, and must be accompanied with a prepaid return-shipping label. COD deliveries will not be accepted. 

Hand delivery: Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17 from noon to 4 pm only to the Arts Council Fayetteville/Cumberland County, 301 Hay St., Fayetteville, NC 28301.
 
The Show is Over. When do I pick my hand delivered works up? All hand delivered work must be picked up Monday or Tuesday, December 14-15, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.  - absolutely no early pick up! If you fail to pick up your work on those dates, you will have to call for an appointment to recover your work. All artwork not picked up by January 15, 2016 will become the property of the Arts Council.
Shipped works will be returned the week after the exhibition closes.
