APRIL 22 – MAY 21, 2016

at Arts Council Fayetteville/Cumberland County

As part of an ongoing commitment to promote the visual arts in Fayetteville, Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery (EWCG) will presents its “2nd Art and Flowers Exhibition,” a celebration pairing of original floral artworks created by today’s contemporary artists, with eye-catching floral arrangements created by local area floral designers and event planners.

Preview Gala reception: on April 22nd from 6 – 8p.m. at the Arts Council for Ellington-White and Arts Council Members

This juried exhibition showcases over 60 works of art submitted from forty artists from across the country paired with art pared with local area floral designers and event planers. It demonstrates the continued significance by artists of botanical art through both conventional and innovative methods. The selected artists will be exhibiting a wide range of creative 2D media from traditional floral and abstract paintings, photography, collage, and fabric textiles. Submitted works come from as far away as San Francisco and as near as Fayetteville.

Floral arrangements inspired by the art and created by top floral designers and event planers will be judged by nationally certified flower show judges from the GARDEN CLUB COUNCIL OF FAYETTEVILLE NC and garden clubs of the region will be exhibited with the works of art.

Image selection jurors were Professors Shane Booth, Soni Martin and Dwight Smith from the Department of Performing and Fine Arts at Fayetteville State University.

Visual Arts Award Juror was Vilas Tonape, Assistant Professor of Art, Methodist University

The exhibition at the arts council is open for viewing 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. from April 22 – May 21.
